Amadeus River Cruises will launch a new ship, Amadeus Amara, in spring 2025. The Amara will sail the Danube and Rhine rivers.
As with other new ships in recent years, sustainability and navigation technology are a big part of the Amara’s design and construction. Amadeus said the 164-guest vessel will have a more efficient hull shape, a shallower draft to navigate low water, a fuel-saving autopilot and solar panels on the sun deck. Solar energy is harnessed for electricity generation.

In addition, Amadeus said the Amara will have a steering system that automatically adjusts to currents, water levels, ship traffic, wind speeds and wave conditions — maximizing propulsion efficiency, reducing emissions and minimizing vibrations on board.
The Amara will have a dozen suites with balconies and 70 standard cabins with drop-down panoramic windows. It will also have an indoor pool.
