Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa on the beautiful island of O’ahu, is a tropical Hawaiian paradise combined with the magic of Disney.

There is something for everyone to do at the resort, including encounters with Disney characters, themed pools, and entertainment. Of course, in addition to all the exciting activities, there is also plenty of food to enjoy at Aulani.
We are bringing you full coverage of everything there is to do at the resort and all of our thoughts about what we experienced! So make sure you check out all of our posts and videos about Aulani, but if you want to learn more about Little ‘Opihi’s – Beachside Kiosk and Pāpālua Shave Ice, you need to keep reading!

Pāpālua Shave Ice is a poolside snack kiosk serving fruity, refreshing shave ice. Shave ice is a popular Hawaiian treat and we couldn’t wait to try this particular shave ice because it has a fun Disney twist. You will find Pāpālua Shave Ice next to Mama’s Snack Stop in the Waikolohe Valley Pool Area.

Pāpālua Shave Ice serves up one item: Shave Ice. But it’s not just any shave ice; it is Mickey Ears Shave Ice, and you can grab one for $7. When you order, you can choose three flavors for your shave ice, and you can also opt for add-ons like sweetened condensed milk or vanilla ice cream.

We decided on Lychee, Blue Raspberry, and Banana for our flavors. If you are going for pretty pictures, you will want to think strategically about your flavor choices. We got a rainbow effect on ours, but you can choose colors to fit your preference. Or just pick the best-sounding flavors and don’t worry about how it looks!

We think the Mickey Ears Shave Ice is a must-get. Not only is it a classic Hawaiian treat, but it is also light and refreshing. You are loaded up with syrup, and the Mickey Ears were just the cutest things! We were also surprised by how long this shaved ice took to melt. We didn’t feel like we had to rush to enjoy it all.

Over at Little ‘Opihi’s – Beachside Kiosk, you can pick up some other sweet treats. You can find Little ‘Opihi’s by Makiki Joe’s on Ko Olina Beach. The menu features a variety of frozen treats, including DOLE Whip, DOLE Whip sundaes, ice cream novelties, fruit on a stick, Boba Tea, and other beverages.

We decided to grab the Stitch Dole Whip Waffle Bowl Fresh Fruit Sundae for $12. First of all, this sundae is so adorable! The sundae comes served in a waffle bowl with sprinkles, and you can choose from pineapple or watermelon DOLE Whip. But that is not it; it also comes with plastic palm trees and a Stitch character.

We went with the pineapple and watermelon swirl. This sundae is a huge portion, and you could easily share it with others. The pineapple DOLE Whip was sweet, tangy, and delicious. The watermelon had more of a fake watermelon taste to it, like the watermelon flavor of a Jolly Rancher. While we would have preferred straight pineapple, we were glad we got the swirl.

Both Little ‘Opihi’s and Pāpālua Shave Ice served up some yummy treats for a relaxing day at Aulani Resort. They were both tasty and refreshing. While we had a slight preference for the Mickey Ears Shavce Ice, let your stomach guide you to the snack that sounds best!
