Caribbean Flights Are Getting Cheaper, According to Kayak

Flights to the Caribbean are getting cheaper, according to a new report from travel portal Kayak.

The company’s latest Travel Trends Forecast says that prices on Caribbean flights are down 17 percent right now, year over year.

“Airfare to the Caribbean is the cheapest KAYAK has seen in three years,” the company said.

That includes significant reductions in prices on destinations including Dominica, where airfare is down by 21 percent; and Barbados, where fares have seen a 17 percent savings.

It’s part of a broader, global reduction in flight prices, according to the company’s report.

So what does that mean in the numbers?

Right now, according to an analysis on Google Flights, a nonstop flight between Miami and Barbados next month will cost you about $695 round trip.

In the same period, a flight from Miami to Dominica will run you around $1,185 roundtrip.

By comparison, a flight from Miami to Punta Cana is costing travelers as low as $423 in the same period.

Food for thought, but if Kayak is right, it certainly bodes well for the upcoming peak winter travel season in the Caribbean.
