Food and wine festival returns to Casa de Campo: Travel Weekly

The Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, in the La Romana region of the Dominican Republic, will host its second annual Casa de Campo Food & Wine Festival Oct. 10 to 12.

This year’s event will feature headlining chef and TV personality Scott Conant, chef Hubert Keller and James Beard Award-winning chef Shawn McClain. The event is a partnership with Invited, which owns and operates more than 200 golf courses and country, city, and stadium clubs.

“The Dominican Republic’s culinary scene has been long overlooked,” said Jason Kycek, senior vice president of sales and marketing for the resort. “This year’s attendees will be fully immersed with premier food and beverage experiences, top-notch tastings, never-before-seen demonstrations and an infusion of Dominican cuisine, rums, and culinary artisans.”

international chefs.

Conant is a restaurateur, cookbook author and a longtime
judge on the reality cooking television series “Chopped” who specializes in Italian cuisine. McClain won
the 2006 James Beard Award for Best Chef: Midwest for his innovative
seafood restaurant Spring in Chicago. Keller, classically trained by
French top chefs, has owned and operated Fleur de Lys restaurants in San
Francisco in Las Vegas as well as the gourmet Burger Bar in Las Vegas.

Three-night packages start at $3,599 and include accommodations in the resort’s Superior Casita room category, two tickets to the Grand Tasting Pavilion for two days, chances to meet celebrity chefs and wine experts, and access for two to the Under the Stars dinner at Minitas Beach Club. Day passes cost $117 per person.
